FAQ

What are dental implants?

Dental implants are advanced restorative dental procedures used to replace missing teeth and restore both the functionality and aesthetics of a natural smile. A dental implant consists of three main components: a titanium implant post, an abutment, and a dental crown.

We offer all inclusive treatment costs (link). To replace a single missing tooth with a dental implant, the cost will be between $3500-4000. To replace all teeth in an upper or lower jaw with a fixed porcelain implant bridge, the cost will be $25,000.

Yes we offer financing options.

While some insurance plans do cover a portion of dental implant treatments, most plans have very limited coverage for implants. Our treatment coordinator will work closely with you to ensure you understand your coverage and benefits related to dental implants.

All-on-4® is a trademarked treatment procedure that involves replacement of all missing teeth in one jaw by using only 4 implants. This procedure is especially beneficial in patients who have lost a lot of bone in the back areas of the mouth. We prefer to use the term All-on-X as we may place 4, 5 or 6 implants depending the patients individual biomechanical needs and available bone. An All-on-X treatment costs approximately $25000 per jaw.

When comparing treatment costs with other providers, be sure to evaluate all the fees quoted. Other providers have separate costs for the consultation and examination, CBCT 3D scan, extractions and sedation. Our treatment costs are inclusive of all these items and more.

We offer all forms of sedation to make sure you are comfortable during your procedure. Patients can be ‘put to sleep’ by an IV with deep sedation or a general anesthetic for more extensive procedures. Our doctors will discuss with you your needs and expectations and will help you decide which form of sedation is best for you.

You will be prescribed a non narcotic pain medication for any post operative discomfort to keep you comfortable during the healing. Most patients often report needing little pain medication in the days after surgery.

Proper home care and maintenance is essential to your dental implant being healthy and lasting a long time. We recommend brushing, flossing as well as regular recare visits with your dentist at your prescribed cleaning schedule. A Waterpik is an excellent cleaning tool around dental implants to remove any food particles.

Dental implant survival rates are in excess of 95% after 10 years. There aren’t sufficient scientific studies beyond 15 and 20 years but many patients have their implants for a lifetime.

A referral from your dentist is not required. We can complete your implant treatment and you can return to your general dentist for all your routine maintenance and dental needs. We will provide your dentist will a full report of your treatment for your file.

We would invite you to come for a complimentary consultation and initial examination. We will evaluate your medical history, teeth, gums, jaw bone and overall dental health and discuss with you treatment options and your suitability for implant treatments.

If you have been told by other dentists in the past that you are not a candidate for dental implants, we routinely perform bone augmentation in deficient areas making dental implants possible. Often, these augmentation procedures are done at the same time as the implant placement procedure.

We primarily use Neodent implants from the Straumann Group family of implants, an industry leader in dental implants worldwide with years of service and scientific studies.
